CHARLESTON:      Mrs. Julia Smith Adams, wife of William Lloyd Adams, passed away late Tuesday evening, January 14, 2025 at the NHC Healthcare Center in West Ashley at the age of 91.

Julia was born October 16, 1933 in Cottageville, SC a daughter of the late Hugo Benjamin Smith Sr. and Elizabeth Dandridge Smith.  She was married to Lloyd, her school sweetheart, for seventy years.  Having been born into God's family at an early age, she was a faithful member of Charlestowne Southern Methodist Church for many years.  She loved her family and friends dearly.

She was predeceased by her daughter Sherry Callaway, and by her granddaughter Jennifer Robin Adams.  In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son William Adams (Lynn), by her grandchildren Michael Callaway (Alisha) and Hayley Adams, by her great-granddaughter Elizabeth Ann Callaway, and by her son-in-law Scott Callaway.

Graveside services will be held Friday afternoon, January 17, 2025 at 1:00  at the Ackerman Cemetery, Red Oak Road, Cottageville, SC.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Old St. Andrews Parish Church Discretionary Fund, 2604 Ashley River Road, Charleston, SC  29414 .  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
