WALTERBORO:     Mrs. June Bennett Dyches passed away early Sunday morning, July 13, 2025 at Magnolias of Walterboro at the age of 94.

June was born in Atlanta, GA June 30, 1931 a daughter of the late Jack McDonald Bennett and the late Beatrice Castellow Bennett.  She was the director of the Colleton County Literacy Council until her retirement, and was an active member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Walterboro.  She was preceded in death by her first husband J.P. Rush, by her second husband, Gene E. Dyches, and by her son, James Edward Rush.

June is survived by her children Sarah Beatrice Rush, Gaye Rush Poston (Reggie), John Rush (Audrey), and Raymond Bennett Rush.  She leaves behind three step-children, Lisa Dyches Hiott (Perry) Allison Dyches Bello, and Gregory Allen Dyches, as well as her sister Barbara Gayle Estes.  There is a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and extended family.

Funeral services will be conducted privately.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in her memory to Bethel United Methodist Church.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
