Obituary

WALTERBORO: Kaiden Jonathan Zeigler, son of Jonathan Zeigler and Scarlett McKenzie Mangum, passed away Friday. He was two years old.

Kaiden was born in Walterboro March 19, 2014 and spent many months in the NICU…at MUSC . He always maintained a joyful personality and a beautiful smile. His smile was comforting and soothing to all that saw it. Kaiden was a wonderful boy, with beautiful eyelashes, who loved to pose for the camera. He especially fond of the cartons Paw Patrol, Blaze and the Monster Machine , but his very favorite was Veggie Tales. When Veggie Tales was on, he would light up clapping his hands and kicking his legs as hard as he could. They were his very favorites from the time he was born.

In addition to his parents, Kaiden leaves behind his maternal grandparents Joseph P. "Joey" Mangum and Phyllis O'Quinn Mangum. He is survived by his maternal great-grandparents: Parks and Phyllis Priester Mangum, Leslie P. and Mary Jo Crosby O'Quinn, and Kenneth "Kenny" Murdaugh. He is also survived by his paternal grandfather Carlos McRae Zeigler Jr., and by his paternal great-grandparents, Carlos M. "Ray" and Mary Lou Crosby Zeigler Sr. He was preceded in death in November by his maternal great-grandmother, Jo Ann Mizell Murdaugh.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon December 14, 2016 at 4:00 in the Bethel Baptist Church, with burial following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 on the day of the funeral in the church sanctuary. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials be made in his memory to a special account established in his name at Wells Fargo Bank. Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home of Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
