WALTERBORO:     Mr. Karl F. Harrison, devoted husband of Lynn Graham Harrison, passed away early Thursday morning, May 23, 2024 at the Veterans Victory House in Walterboro, with his dedicated caregiver and loving daughter Carole H. Britt by his side.  He was 78.

Karl was born in Savannah, GA February 9, 1946 a son of the late Hollen "Sam" Harrison and Catherine Conn Harrison.  He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, and spent his working career as a truck driver for Kinard Wood Preserving in Ehrhardt.  Karl was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing.  He was a member of Frenchman Hunting Club, which was founded by his late father, and he spent his free time on the waters of the South Carolina Lowcountry…especially at his favorite fishing spot on the Ashepoo River.  He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, and the Walterboro Elks Lodge.  Karl was a kind and generous man who never met a stranger, and loved visiting his friends from near and far.

In addition to his wife Lynn and his daughter Carole, he is survived by his step-daughter Debbie Lambert (Eric) of Dover, NH, by his grandson Anthony Lecarus Britt Jr. of St. George, and by his granddaughter Sierra Amanda Elaine Britt of Dallas, TX.  He leaves behind three special cousins that he loved dearly:  Ronald T. "Todd" Harrison of Stillwell, GA, TeRess "Cissy" Harrison Bradley of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Sandra Harrison Dean of Ocala, FL. In addition to his parents, Karl was preceded in death by his infant son Charles Harris Harrison, by his brother Thomas Vernon Harrison, by his sister Sherin Stanfield, and by his first wife, and the mother of his children, Nancy Harrison Ulmer.

The family will receive friends during a time of visitation Wednesday evening, May 29, 2024 from 5:30 until 7:00 at Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro.
