WALTERBORO: Laura A. Redman passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at the Duke Regional Medical Center in Durham, NC under hospice care with her family by her side.  She was 69.

Laura was born in Walterboro November 3, 1953 a daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth Rutz Redman.  For many years she was a well-known fixture at the Colleton Place Assisted Living Center in Walterboro, where her talent in elder care, and her smiling face, were a blessing to the many residents and families she dealt with on a daily basis.

Laura possessed a true love of reading, which led her to open her own bookstore…"Book Bazaar", where she brought the joy of reading to countless people.  She was talented at creating miniatures, and was an excellent cook.  Laura loved her family, and was a devoted mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter Angela Broach, her daughter-in-law Stacey Sewall, her son Edward Broach, and her son-in-law Caleb Broach. Laura leaves behind five grandchildren she adored:  Mykeisha Broach, Mikaila Broach, Spencer Benning, Lawrence Broach, and Samuel Sewall.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon, February 4, 2023 at 2:00 in the chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, with burial following in the Ackerman Cemetery at Red Oak.  The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 at the funeral home.   In lieu of flowers, since Laura was a huge animal lover, the family requests that memorials be made in her memory to https://animalrescue.net/donate/.
