WALTERBORO: Mr. Archie Lee Jones, Sr., husband of Vergia Jane Millwood Jones, passed away Tuesday morning, October 23, 2018 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.  He was 75.

Mr. Jones was born Dec. 10, 1942 in Washington, NC, a son of the late Lewis Edmund Jones and Louise Jones Jones.  He was a retired construction worker with Lee White Construction, and was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Walterboro. He was an avid NASCAR  fan, and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children:  Patsy J. Yocum (Gill) of Ruffin, Debra "Debbie" Jones (Tommy), Mary Sue Jones McKinney (Robert), Archie Lee Jones, Jr. (Melissa) and Stephanie Lynn Lichty (Marty) all of North Carolina.  He has one step-brother, Lewis Edmund Jones, Jr. of North Carolina.  There are sixteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Louise Barton.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 27, 2018 in the chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, with burial following in  the Bedon Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8  PM at the funeral home. Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
