WALTERBORO: Letitia F. "Tish" Fox, passed away Wednesday evening at the Hospice of Charleston Hospice Center in Mount Pleasant after a long and courageous seven year battle with ovarian cancer. She was 72.
"Tish" was born in Walterboro October 5, 1944, a daughter of Mildred Warren Frank, and the late John Nicholas "Nick" Frank. She received her nursing degree from Baptist College in Charleston, and spent most of her career as a registered nurse at the Patrick B. Harris Hospital in Anderson. She was a member of Smoaks Baptist Church, and recently started attending the North Walterboro Baptist Church. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, who loved spending time with her family and traveling.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her children: Joseph Stokes "Joey" Fender, III (Faith) of Augusta, GA, Phillip Scott Vaughan (Kelly) of Charlotte, NC, and Janice Fender Avant (Travis) of Walterboro. There are two brothers, James Ernest "Ernie" Frank, Sr. (Miriam) of Walterboro, and Robert L. "Bobby" Frank of Wadmalaw Island. "Tish" leaves behind nine grandchildren: Brittany Avant, Joshua "Josh" Avant, Kayla, Stephanie and Faith Vaughan, Christian and Kaiden Fender, and Adam and Shaun Wittke. She was predeceased by a brother, John L. Frank.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday in the Chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, with burial following in the Sandy Dam Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 at the funeral home. Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home of Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
