WALTERBORO :     Mrs. Linda Murray Hoover, beloved wife of Jonathan Hoover, passed away Sunday morning, July 20, 2025 at her home in Walterboro at the age of 76.

Linda was born in Charleston July 28, 1948 a daughter of the late Dr. Thomas H. Murray Jr. and the late Annie Lesesne Murray, who owned and operated Colleton Drugs in Walterboro for many years.  She graduated from Palmer Business College, and worked throughout her career as a bookkeeper.  She was employed at Teledyne before joining Griffin Beach and Company.  She and her husband were the proud owners of Tire King in Walterboro, a business that served the needs of Colleton County...as well as travelers up and down Interstate 95...for over 28 years.

Linda was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, and was chosen as "Woman of the Year" in 1982.  She was a true Christian woman, and was a member of the church her family had been a part of for generations, St. Jude's Church in Walterboro.  She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who always focused on the care and support of her family.

In addition to her husband of 58 years, she is survived by her son Dale Hoover (Tasha), and by her daughter Tina Paschall (Robert).  There are six grandchildren:  Tyler and Sarah Grace Hoover, Reagan and Caleb Staab, and Thomas and Taylor Paschall.  Linda leaves behind her sister Annette Baldwin (Richard), as well as a host of extended family that loved her dearly.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas H. "Scooter" Murray III, and by his wife, Audrey Murray.

The family will receive friends during a time of visitation Saturday evening, July 26, 2025 from 6:00 until 8:00 at Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro.  Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon, July 27, at 3:00, at St. Jude's Church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to St. Jude's Church, 907 Wichman Street, Walterboro, SC  29488.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
