Else Johanna Hornung "Liz" Warren entered into eternal rest on Friday July 10, 2020 at
Beaufort Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband
retired SSgt. Miles Keith "Mickey" Warren of Walterboro, SC.
Mrs. Warren was born in Pirmasens Germany on January 12, 1935 to Gustav and Johanna
Frank Hornung. She was a devoted military wife and raised her 5 children all over the world.
After her husband's retirement from the US Air Force they returned to the Warren family home
in Colleton County near Ravenwood Plantation. She retired after many years as a teller with
Nations Bank which was originally the Farmer's and Merchants bank on Washington Street.
Due to her impeccable eye for fashion Prior to working in banking, she was a Buyer for
Warshaw's of Walterboro as well as for Belk Hudson. She loved sharing her cultural
experiences and a lifetime of collecting art and unique conversation pieces from not only locally
but around the globe. Most of all she was a loving and devoted Mother and Grandmother to so
many.
She is survived by 5 Children—Maryann Warren Strickland of Walterboro,SC Miles K.
Warren, Jr., Thomas P. Warren (Kathi) of Henderson, NV, Judy Warren Bilka (Steve) of
Walterboro,SC, Jacqueline "Jackie" Warren Kirkland (Richard)of Beaufort, SC. The
Grandchildren—Nicole "Niki" Hunter, Sabrina Robertson Morris, Marcus Koth, Michael
Strickland, Jared Warren, Alexis Ponce, Ashley Selvy, Miles Warren III, Johanna Warren, and
Anita Warren. Great Grandchildren—Hunter Rizer, Brandon Hunter, Zhane Morris, Warren
Hunter, Brooke Koth, Jackson Strickland, Morgan Koth,
Alyssa Morris, Chloe Morris, Aubrey Steiner, Mauricio Ponce and Violet Selvy.
Also known as "Oma" and Grossmutter by her Grands, "Momma" by her children and Aunt Elsa
by her nieces and nephews she will forever be missed and her memory will remain in the hearts
of her loved ones. At the request of Mrs. Warren and to honor her wishes her family will be
having a private gathering at a later date with immediate family in attendance. To pay tribute to
her memory or to send Condolences you may mail them to Parker Rhoden Funeral home or you
may make a donation in her Honor to the American Heart Association.
