WALTERBORO: Martha Beckett Ross, wife of the late Clarence R. Ross, passed away Tuesday afternoon at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 74.

Mrs. Ross was born in Walterboro November 7, 1941 a daughter of the late Nora and Robert Beckett. She and her late husband owned and operated both the Ross Cash and Carry and the Cedar Hill Mobile Home Park.


She is survived by two daughters, Martha Hatchell and Mollie Gadsden, both of Walterboro. There are six grandchildren: Mandy Pearce, Melinda McClendon, Stephanie O'Herrien, Chelsea Bonner, Tristan Hatchell, and Summer Hatchell. There are eight great-grandchildren.


Mrs. Ross will be entombed at the Glendale Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum in a private family service at a later date. Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
