WALTERBORO :     Mrs. Mary Esther Crook, beloved wife of Roger Crook, passed away peacefully at her home early Wednesday morning, December 7, 2022 under hospice care, with her husband Roger, her son Will, and her daughter-in-law Elizabeth by her side.  She was 77.

Mary Esther was born April 26, 1945 a daughter of the late Reuben D. Sitton and Mary P. Sitton.  She graduated from Easley High School and Columbia College, and was a teacher in the Colleton County School system for many years, positively impacting the lives of countless children. She was a wonderful wife and mother, and an elegant and beautiful lady.  She will be greatly missed by Roger, Will, and Elizabeth as well as by extended family and friends.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son William S. "Will" Crook, and his wife Elizabeth, of Edisto Beach.  She leaves behind a number of nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mary Esther was preceded in death by an infant son William Damon Crook, and by her brother Reuben D. Sitton Jr.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 12:00 in the chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, with burial following in the Live Oak Cemetery.  The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 A.M.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either Live Oak Cemetery, P.O.B. 1351, Walterboro, SC 29488, or to Bethel United Methodist Church, 355 Hampton Street, Walterboro,  SC  29488.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
