CHARLESTON :   Mrs. Mary Jean Randle Kennedy, wife of the late William Henry Kennedy , passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at her home in Charleston.  She was 81.

Mrs. Kennedy was born in Columbia, SC May 28, 1940 a daughter of the late Silas and Gracie Dennis Randle.  She was a retired administrative assistant to the Commandant of Cadets at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina.  She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, loved spending time at the beach, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her daughters, Julie Kennedy and Gena Reeves (Ronnie) of Cottageville.  She has seven grandchildren:  Mary and Maddie Higgins, Scotti Flowers, Samantha Sells, Billy Hardee, and Hunter and Tesch Reeves.  She leaves behind ten great-grandchildren:  Bella Faye Higgins, Ethan, Megan and Tristan Scheurmann, Lyla and Lucy Sells, K.C., Zooey, and Ellie Hardee, and Mae Reeves.  In addition to her husband and her parents, Mrs. Kennedy was preceded in death by a daughter, Katheryn Kennedy, and by a great-grandson Noah Hardee.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 11:00 at the Cottageville United Methodist Church.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
