RUFFIN, SC : Matthew Paul Flecker passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at his home in Ruffin, South Carolina after a brief illness just days after his last successful deer hunt. He was 50.
Matt was born December 4, 1970 in Anderson, IN to Francis and Jean Schweitzer Flecker. Growing up in Alexandria, he was baptized and attended St. Mary's Catholic School and Alexandria-Monroe
High School. Matt had a smile that would light up a room and he had a very giving heart. Keeping in touch with his family was important to Matt and he enjoyed sending birthday cards and talking with his relatives often. He loved receiving notes and photos, which he treasured most of all. Discussing the "Colts" football games, college basketball and NASCAR were some of his favorite topics. Matt enjoyed a humble life fishing, hunting and being outdoors in South Carolina for the last thirteen years. He will be greatly missed by all.
In addition to his parents of Alexandria, IN he is survived by his wife Gina Lynn Searson, by his son Aaron Flecker, by his step-daughter Laura Williams, and by his sisters Theresa Hall (Andy) and Suzanne Cripe (Marty). There are two grandchildren Savannah and Malachi, as well as two step-grandchildren, Bryson and Braelynn "Sassy". There are a host of nieces and nephews: Olivia Hall, Carson Hall, Samuel Hall, Katie Beemer, and Krissy Wedmore (Jake). He also leaves two great-nieces Chloe and Layla, and his mother-in-law Margie Searson.
Funeral services will be held privately. Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
