WALTERBORO :     Mercedes Cardenas, a native of Honduras, passed away late Wednesday night at her home in Walterboro under hospice care, with her devoted daughter Rosa Villalobos by her side, after an extended battle with cancer.  She was 71.  Arrangements for her Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony Catholic Church, and committal at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, will be announced soon by Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro.
