Obituary

WALTERBORO: Mrs. Beulah "Mickie" Pellum Douglas, wife of James E. Douglas, passed away Saturday morning at Roper Hospital in Charleston. She was 72.

Mrs. Douglas was born in Walterboro October 21, 1943 a daughter of the late Parker Nettles and Helen Crosby Nettles. She was a graduate of Walterboro High School and spent her working years as a secretary for J.P. Stevens, Besteel, and Walmart. She was an active member of Bedon Baptist Church, and loved spending time with her family in the mountains and at the beach. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and was affectionately known to most as "Baa Boo".

In addition to her husband of fifty-five years she is survived by two children: Greg Douglas (Angela) and Rhonda Benton (Bert) of Walterboro. She has three grandchildren: Jessica Benton Altman, Jami Benton, and Chelsea Douglas. She leaves behind a special nephew, Tony Douglas of Walterboro, and a host of other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her adoptive father, Ashley Pellum.

Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 11:00 in the Chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, with burial following in the Bedon Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
