Nancy Pate, daughter of the late Donald R. Pate and Frances Lee Kinsey Pate, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024 after a brief hospitalization in Orlando, Florida. She spent her career as a book critic and editor for the Orlando Sentinel, and also produced her own column for the paper called "Between the Lines". She and her beloved cousins Meg Herndon and Gail Greer authored three mystery novels based in the South Carolina Lowcountry entitled "Fiddle Dee Death", "Marsh Madness" and "Way Down Dead in Dixie". Their collective pen name was Carolina Cousins.
A graveside memorial service will be held for Nancy Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 11:00 on the family plot at Live Oak Cemetery in Walterboro.
