WALTERBORO:     Mrs. Nell Barwick Walters, widow of the late Robert E. "Bobby" Walters Sr., passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Wednesday, August 5, 2026 under hospice care, at Magnolias of Walterboro.  She was blessed with 95 wonderful years on this earth.

Mrs. Walters was born in Colleton County November 20, 1930, a daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Barwick, and the late Bernice Stanfield Barwick.  For many years she worked alongside her late husband as a bookkeeper at their family business, Walters' Sheet Metal.  However, her greatest joy was being a homemaker, and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She always placed the needs of her family above her own, and ensured they had everything they needed.  Mrs. Walters served as an election poll worker throughout the years, she was a member of the Clemson Extension Homemakers, and she was an active member of Peniel United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed working in her yard, camping, and going to craft shows with her late husband.

She is survived by her children, Robert E. Walters Jr., Altman T. "Terry" Walters (Toni), and Lisa Walters.  She leaves behind her daughter-in-law, Faye Walters, her grandchildren, Scott T. Walters (Brynn), E. Paige Walters, and Steven K. Walters, and her great-grandchildren, Rhett and Rutledge Walters.  In addition to her parents, and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Mark Walters, and by eight brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends during a time of visitation Monday evening, August 10, 2026 from 6:00 until 8:00 at Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro.  Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel Tuesday morning, August 11, at 10:00, with burial following in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Peniel United Methodist Church, c/o Sammy Dantzler, 1590 Peniel Road, Walterboro, SC  29488.
