WALTERBORO: Mrs. Nettie Bradley Martin, wife of the late Grant W. Martin, passed away Sunday at her home in Walterboro. She was 100.
Mrs. Martin was born in Lockport, NY March 17, 1916 a daughter of the late Frank and Theda Bradley. She and her late husband owned and operated Martin's Dry Goods Store in Youngstown, NY, and she was a member of the Youngstown Study Club, the Tatler Bridge Club, and the Youngstown Presbyterian Church. After moving to Walterboro over twenty years ago to be near her daughter, she became a member of Bedon Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynn M. Anderson of Walterboro, and by two sisters, Ester B. Hardison and Mildred B. Hillman of Ransomville, NY. There are three grandchildren: Meagan A. Marvin of Walterboro, and Elspeth C. Dyal and Jeffrey M. Anderson of Lexington, SC. She has four great-grandchildren, and was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Martin McCormick.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 in the Bedon Baptist Church, and the family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM at Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home of Walterboro. Mrs. Martin will be interred beside her late husband at the North Ridge Cemetery in Cambria, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bedon Baptist Church Family Life Center, 2370 Cottageville Highway, Walterboro, SC 29488.
