George Olin Boatwright, 73, went to be with the Lord on April 5, 2023 at MUSC in Charleston after an extended illness.  A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at 3:00pm at Warren Belvedere Church in Belvedere, SC.  Inurnment will be a private family service at a later date in Walterboro, SC.

Olin was born in Morganton, NC on March 26, 1950 to the late George B. Boatwright and Mavis Anne McCormack Boatwright.  After graduating from Ridgeland High School in Ridgeland, SC, Olin served in the United States Air Force for 4 years and in the Air Force National Guard for 8 years.  When he finished his time of service, he attended Beaufort Tech where he obtained an associate degree in Industrial Electricity-General Technology.  He was employed by DuPont and Westinghouse at the Savannah River Site for 23 years.  Olin was active at Belvedere First Baptist where he served faithfully as a deacon and a choir member.  Olin especially enjoyed singing gospel solos.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Pamela Proctor Boatwright; his three brothers, Bill (Anna) Boatwright of Wisconsin, Dave (Hyunsuk) Boatwright of Texas, John (Donna) Boatwright of Alabama; his sister, Barbara (Brian) Boatwright Duncan of New York; his aunt, Jeannette McCormack Piercy; cousins Dale (Brenda) Piercy, Jimmy (Shanda) Piercy, Bucky (Gail) McCormack, Virginia (Bill) Breannen, Ruthie (Greg) McDaniel, Lynn (Rob) Forbes.

Olin was a kind, considerate, giving person who loved his Lord.  He will be sorely missed.

The family will receive friends following the memorial service.
