Peggy Kay Fender, known to all as "Gaga," age 88, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025, in Walterboro, South Carolina, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on April 25, 1937, in Williams, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Jestine Glass. She was a graduate of Walterboro High School and was employed with Moysey Tax Service before becoming a full-time homemaker.
She was known for her deep love of Edisto Beach, where she spent much of the last 20 years at her beach house. She took great pleasure in sharing plants and talking about her beautiful yard. Along the way, she formed lasting friendships with both locals and vacationers, many of whom made it a point to stop by and visit whenever they returned to Edisto.
She is survived by her daughters: Betsy Fender (Alex Hall), Sami Reynolds (Rally), and Tisa Adkins (Eddie); her beloved grandchildren: Ashli Potter (David), Jennifer Thomas (Charles), Anna Weber (Shane), Meagan Reynolds (Brian), Sarah Young (Calhoun), Laura Hopson (Logan), Hunter Hall, and Taylor Brown; and her cherished great-grandchildren: Alise Burris, Palmer Thomas, Brodie and Brantleigh Biering, and Henry Weber. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louie Fender.
The family would like to thank Randal, Kimberly, Lucy and the entire staff of Magnolias of Santee for the special care and love they provided the last two years.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 22, 2025 at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, with burial following in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 am at the funeral home.
