WALTERBORO: Lester Pierce Jordan IV passed away Sunday morning at the Medical University of South Carolina after a courageous and hard-fought battle with Leukemia. He was 22.

Pierce was born in Walterboro April 21, 1993 a son of Lester P. Jordan III and Chris Hudson Jordan. He was a 2011 graduate of Colleton Preparatory Academy, where he was active in baseball, basketball, football, and golf as a student. He attended U.S.C. Salkehatchie in Walterboro and was currently enrolled at the Orangeburg Technical College. Pierce attended Black Creek Baptist Church, was an avid fisherman, and was a devoted fan of Clemson Football. He loved all animals, especially his dog "Precious", and particularly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He possessed a wonderful and outgoing personality and will truly be missed by all that knew him.


In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandmother "Patsy" Litchfield Morgan, and by special cousins Hannah Langdale Tripp and Alexis and Cameron Farish. He has an aunt, Dawn Farish (Mark), a special great-aunt, Peggy Thomas, a loving nanny Jane "J.J." Watson, and a host of extended family he loved dearly. Pierce was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Lester P. Jordan Jr., and Sara Ackerman Jordan, by his maternal grandfather Hugh Morgan Jr., by his maternal great-grandparents Leon and Clara Griffin Litchfield, by a special great-uncle Billy Thomas, and by a wonderful woman who cared for him as a young child, Judy Cooper.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation and thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Hollings Cancer Institute, floor 7, Ashley River Tower at MUSC for their excellent care of Pierce throughout his illness and final days.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 in the Chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, with burial following in the Jordan Cemetery near Cottageville. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either the Hollings Cancer Institute at MUSC, or to FoCCAS, c/o the Colleton County Animal Shelter, 33 Poor Farm Road, Walterboro, SC 29488.
