WALTERBORO: Raymond H. Emmons, age 84 of Ruffin, SC (formally of Hilton Head Island, SC) died June 7, 2016 at the Medical University of South Carolina from complications from a stroke.
Mr. Emmons was a graduate of Kennebunk High School in Kennebunk, Maine. His working career started in the US Air Force where he retired as an MSgt. He concluded his working career as a Manager at the Suburban Propane facility on Hilton Head Island, SC.
Mr. Emmons is survived by his loving wife of six years, Elberta N. Emmons of Ruffin, SC, and by his devoted sister, Army Lt.Col (Ret.) Mary Emmons of Charleston, SC. There are four children: Michael Emmons of Wakefield, NH, Ellen Bowden of Cumberland, ME, Bruce Emmons of Kennebunkport, ME, and Glenda Burg of Pleasant Ridge, MI. There are two step-sons, Randall L. Curry of Ft. Myers, FL and Bradley L. Curry of Caledonia, OH. Mr. Emmons was pre-deceased by his son, Stephen Emmons of Hilton Head Island, SC in 2005, and by four brothers and four sisters.
Mr. Emmons is also survived by eight grand-children and eleven great-grand-children. Services will be provided by Parker and Rhoden in Walterboro, SC. He will be interred in Kitts Hill, OH.
