COTTAGEVILLE: Richard Michael Stone, beloved husband of Robin Rhode Stone, entered into eternal rest early Wednesday morning, October 22, 2025 at his home in Cottageville, under hospice care, with his devoted family by his side. He was 53.
Richard was born in Walterboro December 31, 1971 a son of the late Richard Franklin Stone and the late Judy Carson Stone. He was a 1990 graduate of Walterboro High School, and served for over ten years with the local unit of the South Carolina Army National Guard. Richard began his career with Castalloy Inc., where he worked for eighteen years, before transitioning to South Carolina Electric and Gas (Dominion Energy) for another fourteen years. He was most recently employed at Eaton Aerospace in North Charleston.
Richard attended Providence Methodist Church in Round O, and loved worshiping with his family there. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed boating, fishing, and spending yearly vacations at Lake Marion. He was an avid fan of the Clemson Tigers and he was known as a man who would help anyone in a time of need. The most important thing to Richard was his family, and they will forever cherish the memories they share of him as a devoted husband, father, and brother.
In addition to his wife of 28 years, he is survived by his daughter Macie Stone Barwick (Austin), and by his son, Ashton Michael Stone. He leaves behind his siblings Shirley Stone Yurcho, William F. Stone (Lacrissa), Sharon Stone Cox, and Victoria Stone Burroughs (Jeff). There is a host of extended family that will also miss him dearly.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon, October 26, 2025 at 3:00 in the chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, with burial following in the Jacques Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Providence Methodist Church, 18605 Round O Road, Round O, SC 29474. Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street is in charge of arrangements.
