WALTERBORO:      Samuel N. "Sam" Legette, husband of Beverly Craven Legette, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, October 2, 2025 at his home in Walterboro, under hospice care, with his family by his side.  He was 78.

Sam was born in Summerville June 19, 1947 a son of the late Samuel and Tobitha Burbage Legette.  He was a veteran in the United States Army, and spent most of his early working career in automobile sales at a GMC dealership in Charleston.  Later, he ventured out into the entertainment business, and owned and operated various clubs in the area including The Horn Country Club, The Watering Hole, Racers, The Lazy B, and The Blu Marlin.  After retirement he worked with his son in law in the construction business.  Sam was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who always took care of his family and put their needs before his own.  He will truly be missed.

In addition to his wife of 55 years, he is survived by his daughter Ashley Padgett (Clyde), and by his son Clayton Legette.  There are four grandchildren:  Hayden, Eli, Graham and Elton Padgett.  In addition to his parents, was preceded in death by a grandson, Mason Legette.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home of Walterboro is assisting the family with arrangements.
