Obituary

IRMO :     Mr. Sherrill Bonneau "Beau" Blocker passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 28, 2023 at his daughter's home in Irmo after a courageous battle with cancer, under hospice care, with his family by his side.  He was 82.

Mr. Blocker was born in Walterboro May 20, 1940 a son of the late Sherrill and Claire Mouzon Blocker.  He was a United States Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War and was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal.  Mr. Blocker was a retired accountant, and was a member of the Huguenot Society of South Carolina and The Vietnam Veterans of America.

Mr. Blocker is survived by his daughters, Michelle B. Nauenberg (Eric) and Angela B. Carter (John), by his brother Thomas M. Blocker, and by his sisters Diane B. Reynolds and Sara L. Blocker.  There are five grandchildren:  Chaya Akhavi, Asher Nauenberg, Benjamin Carter, Henry Carter, and Samuel Carter.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William S. Blocker, and by a sister Julianne C. Blocker.  He leaves behind a host of caring extended family and devoted caregivers.

Graveside funeral services, with military honors, will be held Friday, March 3, 2023 at 11:00 at the Live Oak Cemetery in Walterboro.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
