Obituary

Stanley Craig Eaton, a smiling and friendly face in the meat department at the IGA grocery store in Walterboro for many years, passed away peacefully at his home in Walterboro Wednesday evening, February 14, 2024 under hospice care, with his sister and niece by his side.  He was 68.

Stan was predeceased by parents Paul and Tommy Eaton and brothers Wayne Brown and Ricky Brown, all from GA. Stanley is survived by his sister, Joyce King of Jacksonville, FL and several nieces and nephews which he was very proud of, along with their families.

Stan worked in the pottery wholesale and retail business in GA for many years. He also worked as a trim carpenter for many years in both GA and SC.  He loved football and was very passionate about the Georgia Bulldogs.  He also loved the Atlanta Braves. Stan loved his plants and possessed a very green thumb. He loved the water, and enjoyed camping, boating and fishing.  He enjoyed nature and building bird houses for his family and friends.  Stan loved his music, both rock 'n roll and country, and was well known for wearing a band or concert t-shirt.

Stan will be laid to rest at Melwood Cemetery, 5170 E. Ponce de Leon Ave., Stone Mountain, GA alongside his parents on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 2:00, followed by a Celebration of Life at the home of Melody King,  261 Lancelot Way, Lawrenceville, Georgia.
