Thomas Madison Howell, III, 69, of Walterboro, SC entered into eternal rest on Friday afternoon June 25, 2021 at Trident Medical Center. Tommy was born July 20, 1951 in Walterboro, SC., the son of the late Thomas Madison Howell, Jr. and the late Harriott Barnwell Howell. He graduated from the University of South Carolina and was a proud member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. He also served in the Army National Guard. Tommy lived in Savannah, GA for many years where he was employed with Roadway Trucking Company. He retired and later moved back to Walterboro where he was a member of St. Jude's Church. He was an avid reader, attended many golf tournaments at Augusta National and was a loyal Gamecock fan.
Tommy was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Barnwell Howell. He is survived by his sisters Marnie (Brassie) Smith of Walterboro, SC and Kinloch (Frank) Smith of Mt. Pleasant, SC. Additionally he is survived by his nieces Kinloch (Scott) Bell of Walterboro, SC, Margaret (Brian) Canon of Fraser, CO, Sarah Smith of Boston, MA, and one nephew Josiah Smith of Charleston, SC.
A memorial service will be held at St. Jude's Church, 907 Wichman Street, Walterboro, SC on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 11:30AM. Family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Church Garden Fund. Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
