ADAMS RUN :     Mr. Joseph Treacy Burn Jr., a well-known forester throughout the Lowcountry of South Carolina, and the former owner and operator of the Walterboro Pole Company, passed away peacefully late Sunday evening at his home, under hospice care, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.  He was 70.

Treacy was a native of Aiken, South Carolina and was the son of the late Joseph Treacy Burn and Olive Douglas Gandy Burn.  He is survived by his sisters, Sarah Elizabeth Burn and Martha Rebekah Seneff, and by his two sons, Joseph Treacy Burn III and Joseph Whittington Burn.  He was also the proud grandfather of Madelyn Burn, Jacob Burn, and Trevor Burn.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 17, 2025 at 10:00 am at Trinity Church, 1589 SC-174 on Edisto Island, with Rev. Wey Camp officiating. Committal services will follow that afternoon at 3:00 at the Welsh Neck Baptist Church Cemetery in Society Hill, SC.  A complete obituary will be posted soon by Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, and in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to Trinity Church.
