RUFFIN: Mrs. Gertrude "Trudy" Infinger Gentry, widow of the late Paul Guilford Gentry, passed away Wednesday evening, August 5, 2026 at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. She was 85.
Mrs. Gentry was born in Dorchester County April 23, 1941 a daughter of the late Carl Wilson Infinger and the late Marjorie Fralix Infinger. She was a seamstress at Carolina Girls in her younger years before becoming employed at Aston Hill. Mrs. Gentry was a devoted wife and mother and she enjoyed quilting, doing word puzzles, and spending time outdoors living a simple country life helping others.
She is survived by her children David Infinger (Dee Anna), and Lola Lynn Gentry. She leaves behind her granchildren Turner and Allison Infinger, and her sisters Delores Harbison and Judy Farish. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Brenda Marle, and Jerry, Dean, Donnie, and T.W. Infinger.
Graveside services will be held Sunday afternoon, August 9, 2026 at 2:00 at Live Oak Cemetery in Walterboro. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the cemetery. Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
