WALTERBORO: Mr. Victor F. Caliguire passed away Friday, May 19, 2023 at the Veteran's Victory House with his family by his side. He was 91.
Victor was born in Herkimer, NY, April 12, 1932, a son of the late Joseph and Rose Mascara Caliguire. He attended Herkimer schools and graduated from Herkimer High School. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, and was honorably discharged on March 16, 1956 with the Rank of Airman 2C. Victor was married to Isabella Federico on June 23, 1957 in St. Joseph's Church, in Little Falls, and they were married until she passed away on April 18, 2010. He was employed as the Manager for Chicago Markets in Utica, for Remington Arms in Ilion, and was an attendant and driver for V.J.Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. and for Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, for many years. Victor was a communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church.
Victor is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Rose and Gregory Pallay, and Donna and Sandy LaMarco, all of Summerville. He has a twin brother, Mario Caliguire (Rebecca) of Estero FL. He leaves behind his grandchildren: Holli Luppino, Alaina LaMarco, John LaMarco, Joanna LaMarco and Ryan Luppino (Amanda). There are four great grandchildren: Tianna Hunter and her boyfriend Eric, Payton Luppino and Madelyn Luppino. He leaves behind his in-laws, Paul and Shirley Federico of New Smyrna Beach FL, and Anthony and Mildred Federico of Little Falls, NY. There are several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his three brothers and three sisters: Peter Caliguire (Olga), Joseph "Pep" Caliguire (Genevieve), Carl Caliguire, Carrie Barbuto (Joe), Florence Caliguire and Laura Caliguire.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, S. Main St. Herkimer, NY where a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by the Rev. Thomas Babiuch. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery, E. Herkimer. Victor's family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Patriot Hospice and the Veterans Victory House for the excellent care they gave him during his final days. Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro was in charge of arrangements.
