RUFFIN: Mrs. Vineta Breland Hudson, widow of Vergil Manning Hudson, died early Friday morning at her residence under the care of Agape Hospice. She was 102.

Mrs. Hudson was born February 11, 1915 in Colleton County, a daughter of Clarence Kearse Breland and Mary Addie Bishop Breland. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Ruffin, and was a 1931 graduate of Walterboro High School. Vineta was loved by so many, and her loving and humble nature made all that met her feel special.

She is survived by three nephews and a niece: Rodney Breland and Dale Breland of Ruffin, Bruce Getman of Hartwell, GA, and Sharon Breland Fender of Lodge. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Vineta Hudson, a sister Melba Breland Getman, and a brother, C.K. Breland, Jr.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, with burial following in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Ruffin. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro.
