WALDENE CARTER EDINGER entered into heaven on December 14, 2018. She was born in Ehrhardt, SC on May 9, 1940 and grew up in Walterboro, SC. She was preceded in death by her parents Isaac and Verna Carter of Walterboro, SC and her son David Gamble.

She leaves behind her husband Bill Edinger, two children Donna Gordon (Jim) , Gail Ferris and three step children Lisa Deacon, Daniel Edinger and Deborah Spinda along with her grandchildren Kate Smith (Mike) , Joseph Gordon, Thomas Felsmaier (Trisha) and Nathaniel Spinda and four great grandchildren Isaac, Jacob, Tate, Emmie and one more expected in May.

Waldene loved to travel, to celebrate holidays and to spend time with family and her loving devoted husband Bill. Over the years she fought numerous battles against cancer with strength, a positive outlook and determination.

She retired from The Herald newspaper in Rock Hill (McClatchy Corporation) where she enjoyed a career in sales, marketing and promotion. Waldene was a member of St James United Methodist Church in Ehrhardt, SC.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 17th at 11:00 AM at Parker Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street, Walterboro, SC with burial following at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Family will be receiving visitors prior to the service at 10:00 AM.
