SAVANNAH:     Mr. Warner McTeer Jones, 87, of Queensbury Street in Savannah, Georgia died Friday, April 26, 2024 at his home in Savannah.

Mr. Jones was born May 24, 1936 in Early Branch, SC a son of the late Alice "Allie" McTeer Jones and Clyde H. Jones Sr.  He was a 1953 graduate of Varnville High School and a 1957 graduate of Newberry College.  He was honorable discharged from the U.S. Army after six months of active training and five and a half years active reserves.  He had a thirty year career with the Social Security Administration, retiring in management.  He then had a twenty-five year career as an agent with New York Life.  He was a member of Isle of Hope Methodist Church in Savannah.

Preceding his death was the death of his childhood sweetheart and wife of 61 years, Mary Louise Belger Jones.  Surviving are two daughters, Melanie A. Jones of Savannah and Julie J. Trout of Daniel Island, SC; sister Lucyle Copeland and husband Bob of Seabrook, SC and three grandchildren, Trey, Connor and Dalton Trout.

Graveside services are to be held Tuesday afternoon, April 30, 2024 at 2:00 at Ebenezer Cemetery in Yemassee, SC.  The family suggests that those who wish may send memorial checks to non-profit Ebenezer Cemetery, P.O. B. 428, Yemassee, SC  29945.
