FOLLY BEACH:     Mr. William Parker Morris, Jr., known to most as "Billy", passed away peacefully, surrounded by love on Thursday, April 26th, 2018 at the Medical University of South Carolina. He was 74.

Billy was born in Charleston, SC on January 7th, 1944, and was the son of William Parker Morris, Sr. and Mary Catherine Hogg Morris. He graduated from Carlisle Military School in 1962 and Palmer Business College in Charleston, SC. He was a talented tenor saxophone player, occupying First Chair in his school bands and playing with boogie-woogie, rhythm and blues bands in his younger years. Billy took over his family business around 1967 which included Morris' Restaurant, in Jacksonboro, SC. He was the owner/operator of Morris' Restaurant for over 30 years and quite the entrepreneur, owned and operated many businesses, including the Hitching Post convenience, gas and ABC store in Jacksonboro, SC and additional restaurants in Walterboro and Beaufort, SC. He is known far and wide for his cooking skills, with seafood being his specialty. After leaving the restaurant business, Billy embarked on a successful career in sales at Stokes Honda and later at Morris Nissan in Charleston.

Billy is remembered for his love of the South Carolina coast. He was an avid deep-sea fisherman and boating enthusiast. He loved supporting local restaurants and one of his greatest pleasures was going out to eat with friends and family.

He is survived by his children, K. Michelle Morris Hiott Gravano (Daniel) of Walterboro, SC; William "Willie" Parker Morris, III of Folly Beach, SC; and Mary Louise Morris Nichols (Chris) of Savannah, GA; his sister, Mary Watson of Walterboro, SC; his cherished grandchildren, Carolina Morris, Cassidy Morris, Katie Hiott, Zeke Nichols and Stella Nichols; his nephew, Jack Watson (Precia) and niece, Mary Catherine "Sissy" Morris
(Ron). He was preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter, Pamela Lynn.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Nature Conservancy (designating South Carolina), Lowcountry Foodbank or Friends of the Colleton County Animal Shelter.

The family will receive friends during a time of visitation on Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 1:00 until 3:00 at Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street, Walterboro, SC  29488.
