JACKSONBORO: William Ryan Pinckney, born 1943, son of the late William Edward Pinckney and Whilmena Gray Pinckney, of Walterboro, SC, died Saturday, May 20, 2017, in Jacksonboro, SC. He was a retired landscape contractor and former SC Highway Patrolman.

A graduate of Walterboro High School, he attended Clemson University before graduating from SC Patrol Training in Columbia, SC. After 7 years as a patrolman, he relocated to Hilton Head Island, where he established himself as a landscape contractor, a career he loved and embraced with passion.

He is survived by his children Judy Pinckney Meyers (Rob) of Panama City, FL, and Charles Cullen Pinckney (Carmen) and Jason Pinckney, both of Ridgeland, SC. Also surviving are a brother, Edward Pinckney (Johnnee) of Bluffton, grandchildren Charlotte Pinckney, Will and Cara Meyers, three nieces and three nephews, and a host of friends who will miss his wonderful humor and love for fishing the black waters of South Carolina.

A celebration of his life will be held Saturday morning, May 27, 2017 at 11:30 in the chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home of Walterboro.
